As a long-time devoted and loyal fan of Disney and the fruits thereof, I have stumbled upon a puzzling quandary, of which I have been unable to receive a viable or even acceptable explanation. The rather popular and essential individual known as Goofy quite obviously is of the canine species. However, the main iconic character, Mickey Mouse, owns a dog named Pluto. Why are these two dogs so different? What is the explanation behind the difference in mannerisms of Goofy and Pluto?
I believe that since Pluto is a house-trained pet, they made him more like an actual dog. Whereas Goofy does his own thing, like a boss.

Pluto only barks and walks on four paws, just like a normal dog. Goofy actually talks and walks on two feet just like any other person in the world.

Pluto acts as a regular in which he plays with toys and bones. Then Goofy acts as a person he responds to your questions with words and does stuff like goes fishing.

Pluto acts like a dog and sometimes, he gets into trouble. On the other hand, Goofy acts like a person and his name says it all (he is goofy).
